When you turned on two-factor authentication, CurTask gave you 10 recovery codes. Each one works once and lets you sign in without your authenticator app, for example if your phone is lost, broken or replaced.

  1. Step 1Sign in with your password

On the Welcome back page, sign in with your email and password, or with Continue with Google, as usual.

CurTask then asks you to Enter your code. Instead of a code from your app, choose Use a recovery code instead.

  2. Use a recovery code

    Step 2Type one recovery code

On Use a recovery code, type one of your codes in Recovery code and choose Sign in with this code.

Read the note before you press it: after you sign in, your old authenticator app is disconnected and your other recovery codes stop working.

If CurTask says That code isn't valid or was already used., try another of your codes. Each code works once.

  3. Step 3Set up two-factor again

Straight after signing in, CurTask opens Set up two-factor authentication again, because your old authenticator was disconnected. Scan the new QR code with your app, type its code, and save your new recovery codes. Throw away the old list: none of those codes work any more.

The steps are the same as in Turn on two-factor authentication.

  4. Step 4Make new codes without losing your phone

Used a few codes, or think someone saw your list? In Settings → Security, beside Recovery codes, choose Regenerate, then Create new codes. Your old codes stop working straight away, so save the new ones somewhere safe and choose Done.

CurTask may first ask you to confirm it's you with a code from your authenticator app (Enter a code).
