Concept

The project's AI language

Each project has its own AI language, English or Bahasa Melayu. AI text is written in it, while quotes always stay in the paper's own language.

Every project has an AI language: English or Bahasa Melayu. Everything the AI writes for that project is written in it, even when the papers are in another language.

It is separate from the language of CurTask's screens. You can use the app in English and have a project whose AI writes in Bahasa Melayu, or the other way round. See Change the app language and theme.

Where you choose it

You choose the AI language in the first step of a new project, under AI language, next to the title and the project type. See Start a project with the guided interview.

The interview questions, the problem statement draft and the suggested objectives and research questions are all written in that language.

What it changes

  • Paper analyses: the summary, methods, sample, findings and the rest in the AI paper profile.
  • The literature matrix: the values the AI suggests for your columns.
  • Analysis and writing help: suggested codes and themes, and the cards beside your draft.

Quotes stay in the paper's language

A quote is evidence, so it is never translated. Every AI value comes with the page and the exact words from the paper, in the language the paper was written in. A Malay summary of an English paper still quotes the paper in English. See How the AI finds its evidence.

Analyses in another language

An analysis is kept with the language it was written in. When you add a paper to a project with a different AI language, its existing analyses still come with it, marked with their language (for example In English). Reusing them is free.

To get the same analysis in your project's language, choose New version in that language in the paper's AI paper profile. It is a new analysis, so you see its cost before it runs. When you use Expand analysis, you can also pick the AI language for that run. See Analyse a paper with AI.
