The project overview page

The first page of every project: its problem statement, keywords and research questions, and how far you have come in the Library, Analysis and Writing lenses.

Open a project from Home and you land on its overview. It answers two questions at a glance: what is this project for, and how far along is it?

What the project is for

At the top are the project type, the date you started it and the title. Under them:

  • Problem statement (when the project has one). The statement you accepted or wrote during setup. If it is still the AI's draft, it is marked Suggested and has an Accept button: it becomes yours only when you accept it. See Suggested AI text.
  • Keywords. The search words for your study. Add, change or remove them right here; changes save at once. See Project keywords.
  • Research questions. Your questions as RQ1, RQ2 and so on, each with its objective. Choose a question's edit button to change it, or Add to write another. The matrix and the writing tools use these questions, so keeping them up to date keeps the whole project pointed at what it is for.

If you skipped the questions during setup, the page says so and offers Add your questions (or Resume the interview if you started it).

How far along it is

Under Lenses, one card per lens shows its progress, with a link to open it:

  • Library: how many papers the project has, how many are Ready to analyse and Not ready yet, and how many have No PDF.
  • Analysis: how much of the literature matrix is filled, with the Columns, the values Accepted or edited by you and those Suggested, to review. Once you code papers, it also counts your Codes, Coded passages and Themes.
  • Writing: the words written, the Sections and the Papers cited.

Three steps to a filled matrix

While the matrix is still empty, the overview shows Three steps to a filled matrix: Bring in papers, Let the matrix fill and Write with the evidence. The first two have a button that takes you there (Add papers and Open the matrix). See Add papers to a project and The literature matrix.

A project that isn't set up yet

A project you left part-way through setup is marked Draft on Home, and opening it takes you back to the step where you stopped. If you reach a draft's overview another way, it says Setup isn't finished. with a Continue setting up button.
