Find your way around: rail, top bar and command palette
The main controls on every screen, plus ⌘K or Ctrl+K to do almost anything by typing.

Every CurTask screen has the same frame: a narrow rail down the left, a top bar across the top, and a thin status bar at the bottom. Learn these once and you can reach anything.

Step 1Use the rail on the left
From top to bottom, the rail has:
- Home (the CurTask logo): your projects, and where you left off.
- Global Library: every paper you own. See The Global Library.
- Inside a project only, the three lenses: Library, Analysis and Writing. See The three lenses.
- At the bottom, the Processing queue (with a badge while papers are being processed; see The queue), Settings and Account.
Hover over any icon to see its name.

Step 2Read the top bar
- On the left, the breadcrumbs show where you are; choose one to go back up.
- In the middle, Search or run a command opens the command palette.
- On the right: whether your changes are saved (All changes saved, see Autosave and working offline), whether the AI is available (AI connected; choose it to see what is sent to the AI), and your credits balance (choose it to open billing and usage; see Credits explained).
- Then the bell for notifications, and your initials for the account menu: Profile, Security, Settings, Send feedback and Sign out.

Step 3Open the command palette
Press ⌘K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows, or choose Search or run a command in the top bar. The Command palette lists what you can do on this page, your projects, pages to go to, preferences and help.

Step 4Type a command and press Enter
Start typing: a page, a project's name or an action, such as "import", "matrix", "dark" or "storage". Move with ↑ and ↓, press Enter to run, or Esc to close.
The commands change with the page. In a paper you can star it or start coding it; in the matrix you can add a column or export it; in Writing you can turn on focus mode.

Step 5Switch lens with the keyboard
Inside a project, press Alt+1, Alt+2 or Alt+3 (on a Mac, ⌥1, ⌥2, ⌥3) to jump to Library, Analysis or Writing.
Tip: Settings → Keyboard shortcuts lists every key, such as New project and Show or hide sidebar.
