Concept
What is CurTask?
One place to keep your papers, analyse them and write with the evidence beside you.
Most research projects live in three tools at once: a reference manager for the papers, a spreadsheet or analysis tool for what they say, and a word processor for the writing. CurTask puts all three in one place, so a quote can travel from a PDF into your draft without being copied by hand, and you can always see where it came from.
Prefer to watch? See CurTask in three minutes.
Keep your papers in one library
Every paper you import goes into your Global Library, stored once. CurTask reads its full text page by page (scanned papers too), finds its title, authors and year, and notices when you already have the same file. See Import papers into your library and The Global Library.
Everything learned about a paper, from its details to its analyses, your tags and notes, stays with it. We call that its Baggage. When the paper joins another project, its Baggage comes along at no cost.
Work in projects
A project is one piece of research: a literature review, a thesis chapter, an article. It has a title, the research questions you are answering, the papers you link to it, and everything you make from them. Each project has three lenses:
- Library: the papers in this project.
- Analysis: a literature matrix, coding of passages, and a Synthesis Map of your themes.
- Writing: your manuscript, with citations and the evidence behind them.
See Start a project.
AI that shows its evidence
CurTask's AI can summarise a paper, fill a literature matrix, suggest codes and check the claims in your draft. Every value it gives comes with a page number and a quote from the paper, checked to be really there. If no evidence is found, CurTask says so instead of guessing. See How the AI finds its evidence.
AI text is marked Suggested until you accept it. You stay the author. See Suggested AI text.
AI work uses credits, and you see the estimate before anything runs. Importing, reading and writing by hand are free. See Credits explained.
Private by default
Your papers, notes, codes and writing are yours alone. Your notes and memos are never sent to the AI. Your data is kept on servers in Malaysia. See Private by default and What the AI sees.
It saves as you go
There is no Save button. Everything saves as you type, and much of your work carries on even when the internet drops. See Autosave and working offline.
