Tags help you group papers your own way: by topic, by chapter, by "to read". A tag belongs to the paper, not to a project, so it follows the paper into every project it joins. Stars mark the papers that matter most.

  1. Starring a paper and removing the star

    Step 1Star a paper

In your library, choose the star at the start of a paper's row. Choose it again to remove the star.

You can also star a paper from the top of its details.

  2. Opening the Tags & Notes tab of a paper

    Step 2Open a paper's tags

Choose a paper's row to open its details, then choose the Tags & Notes tab.

The Tags heading says shared across all projects: a tag you add here shows wherever the paper appears.

  3. The Add a tag field and the tags suggested from keywords

    Step 3Add a tag

Type in Add a tag… and pick a tag you already use, or choose Create “…” with the name you typed to make a new one.

Under Suggested from keywords, CurTask offers the paper's own keywords as tags: choose one to add it.

To remove a tag, choose the small cross on it.

  4. Tagging two selected papers at once

Step 4Tag many papers at once

In the library, tick the papers you want, then choose Tag in the bar that appears above the list. Pick a tag or type a new one: it is added to every selected paper.

  5. Showing only the papers with a tag from the sidebar

    Step 5Find papers by tag

Your tags are listed under Tags in the sidebar on the left. Choose one to show only the papers with that tag; choose it again to show all papers.

While a tag is chosen, the library toolbar shows it, for example Tag: methods. Choose the cross on it to show all papers again. Tags work the same in a project's Library lens.
